WIP WEDNESDAY

Well, I do have one WIP, but I'm not sharing. :( Boohoo, sorry, its a surprise! BUT... I made my first FBB!!! I am so happy with it!! I even lined it!! With the help of this wonderfully easy, great for a beginner sewer tutorial. Anyways, heres my bag.

AND..I also made my boys some jellyfish. I got one in a swap last month and they all wanted it! It was crocheted, so I looked for a pattern and although I did find some really cute ones, and more cute ones, I also found this one. As soon as the boys saw it, they yelled "Spongebob Jellyfish!" So I had to try. I screwed up a little, I bought felt before I read the instructions which called for fleece, which will curl on itself for the "legs", but oh well, I just crocheted the legs on. It was actually quite an easy project and I love how they turned out. BUT, I broke my sewing machine :( so no more sewing projects untill I get off my a*# and get it fixed. I think some of the eyelash yarn got stuck in the thingy that moves the needle up and down (ya, you can tell I'm an expert seamstress here, lol) and now it won't move AT ALL, or change the stitch selector thing. So I'll take it in. Well, heres my jellyfish. The boys love them.

There is actually 4, but one has mysteriously vanished. Well, thats it for this week. Whats on your hook?????

I STARTED SEWING!!

And look what I made!

Here's a tissue holder (Thanks Connie!!)

And here's a couple of crayon rolls. These are actually the 3rd and 4th ones I've made. I love these! They are the perfect gift for younger kids and easy for a beginner like me. On the pattern, she put ric rac in hers and I thought it looked so cute, but I tried and mine was playing peek-a-boo, so I'm gonna wait to do it again. These ones are for Quentons teachers 2 sons.

And for crochet, my Mom wanted me to make a baby bracelet for her fellow teacher who s wife is having a baby over the summer so I did. But when it was done, I thought she should give it to him on something. I have made them before and attached them to cards, but I saw this and thought it was perfect, so here's my "Butler Baby" Its only in diapers be because my mom didn't know the sex of the baby, so he/she is neutral so far. I even put a little bum crack sticking out of his diaper and bellybutton, but did I take pics of that? Of course not! :( grrrr.

BABY STUFF

A friend of mine just had a baby boy last week, so I made her the Noah's Ark Afghan. I also made her daughter a couple of things so she wouldn't feel left out. But my absolute favourite thing to give to babies is this diaper wreath. They work up quick, they have everything you need on it and they are loved when they are received. I even have to tell the parents that they HAVE TO take them apart! Here's the one I made for Jake

I also like to personalize it with a baby bracelet.

I told you I love to do other crafts.! lol.

On another note. Its been raining almost every day for about 2 weeks straight here.

But after all that rain, comes these.

I VOW TO NEVER DO A GRAPHGAN AGAIN!

OK, maybe not, but not any time soon!! Its finished! Heres my NFLD Flag Lapghan.

Now my next problem, what to charge for it? I have no clue!! lol

I also have been totally neglecting taking pics of my swaps I've been getting. Not for any reason, just because they disappear after the package gets opened, lol. So I tracked my last few down and heres some pics.

I got these butterfly fridgies from Yolanda. She also sent alot of other things. All my boys even got a little thing! I couldn't get pics of those though.

Heres my swap from Connie. I have been wanting to make a cloth with the scrubbie in the middle, but I can't find the scrubbies, so now I have one!! I also love the little tissue holder. Its a great little sewing project that I'm soon going to try.

And lastly, I got these little toys from Billie. My boys love them. I've been searching for more jellyfish patterns, cuz they all really love that one. I couldn't get it out of Liams hans to take a pic, so you get him too!

I LOVE being in swaps! They are so much fun. I'm only sorry that I only just found out about them.

WIP WEDNESDAY

Well, I got my dress for Abby finished. Here it is.

And I've made pretty good progress on my NFLD Lapghan. I think its a bit bigger than a lapghan, but oh well. I only have about 50 more rows to go. Then I'm going to add a sc border just to finish the ends off. I wanted to do a rev sc border, but I don't have the time (or patience, lol) Then I want to just outline the edges t make it pop. It will definitely be done by Friday....I shouldn't say that too loudly, you know how that works!

Well, how boring is this, this is the only thing I'm working on! That is extremely unusual for me! As soon as this is done though, I need to make a dozen other things. I'll keep you all posted. In the meantime, whats on your hook???

WIP WEDNESDAY

WIP for this week are still my NFLD Flag Lapghan. I didn't get too much of it done this week. Not a good thing. I'm gonna be working on it like crazy this week.

I also started the Sunny Days Dress from Crochet World June 2008. I have never been a big fan of Crochet World. I'll get it sometimes, but its usually just because I like 1 thing, but this issue had a couple things I like and plan to make.

I have a couple of FOs for this week too. I finished a Cupcake Cradle Purse for Abby (the dress above is also for her) These will be her Big Sister presents when baby Jacob arrives very soon. The Noah's Ark Blanket is for him.

I also finished a couple of football squares for a lady on Crochetville. I need to send those out tomorrow. I also got some swap stuff done, but of course I can't put pics of that up yet! :)

Ethans doing great today. I was worried he would be pulling at his forehead, but he hasn't bothered at all a little cranky, but otherwise fine. And Quenton can straighten his arm more and more every day. He starts football next week and I know hes not supposed to play stuff till the end of the month at least, but I hafta find out soon if he can play it at all for the rest of the summer. If he can't I'll hafta get my $$ back. He'll be upset, but we'll find something less contact that he can do. I'll be upset too, I've never been a big football fan, but last yr was his first year and I LOVED it! It was way more exciting than his soccer was. No offence to all the soccer fans out there. The game itself was good, just watching Quenton do nothing on the field was boring, lol.

Lastly, I did go shopping for fabric!! I did it a couple of days ago, but never really had a chance to post it. Well, here's what I got. Its just a start, but a pretty good one I think. I have projects in mind for all of it. I hope I can do this!! lol.

Let me know what you have in your WIPs this week.

IF IT AIN'T ONE THING, ITS ANOTHER!!

I just got home, bathed, had a hot tea and now I'm here. Last week, Quenton, my oldest, broke his arm. Its not a really bad break, doesn't even need a cast, but he needs to stretch it and bend it for it to heal, otherwise he will never be able to straighten it out again! This isn't as bad as when he broke his other arm last year and needed surgery to put pins in, but its still a break. So we finally finished up all of his Dr appts yesterday. Yeah! right? WRONG!! Today, the baby was running around and down he goes, right into the corner of a drawer! There was a hole in the middle of his forehead. So 3 1/2 hours after waiting in the ER, he came home with 2 stitches. He was absolutely furious with me. 2 nurses held him down while the Dr stitched him up the whole time hes screaming "Mama!!" And not a pain or help Mama, but a very mad Mama. Poor baby. When they were done I went to pick him up and he starts yelling at me "All done, all done!" with a furious look on his face, then he starts hitting me, finally bit me, then put his head on my shoulder and off we went. lol. I completely understand. No hard feelings. Poor little guy. We have to get the stitches out on Monday. That will be another fun day I'm sure! Well, off to bed I go.

Amazing!!!

It was my Moms 50th birthday yesterday and my Dad got her the most beautiful bouquet of flowers I have ever seen! Here's the whole bouquet. It was an exotic bouquet.

But most amazing in this bouquet is the rose. I have never seen a flower like this in my life!!! I have no idea how they did this, and I swear to you it was NOT painted on! It is just beautiful!

Not only is it pretty, but it was massive! I mean HUGE!

Anyways, that's all I got for today! lol
